The chipmaker partners with Advantech and takes part in up to 29 US-Vietnam agreements.
Qualcomm joined Advantech and other industry partners in the new WEDA edge artificial intelligence ecosystem on 19 September 2026. The alliance aims to support scalable deployments across varied hardware environments.
The WEDA collaboration focuses on simplifying edge AI solutions by standardising reference designs and development tools for enterprise and industrial use cases.
Qualcomm is also participating in up to 29 cross-sector agreements signed between United States and Vietnamese companies. These deals were announced during a recent state visit to strengthen international trade ties.
The initiatives reflect Qualcomm's ongoing strategy to diversify beyond its core smartphone business. The chip designer is connecting its wireless intellectual property to industrial Internet of Things hardware and edge computing applications.
