Sea's e-commerce platform connects Brazilian merchants with buyers in Argentina and Mexico.
Shopee, the e-commerce arm of Sea Limited, launched an international sales platform on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises in Brazil. The service lets local merchants sell and deliver products directly to consumers in Argentina and Mexico, intensifying competition among Latin American marketplace operators.
The platform is expanding to 150,000 Brazilian sellers following an initial trial phase. During testing, the service attracted 19,000 Brazilian vendors who listed 1.4 million items for international buyers.
Under the model, merchants only need to prepare items for pickup once an order arrives. Shopee handles collection, cross-border shipping, and final delivery to the buyer's address, while also managing customs clearance and customer service at no additional cost to the seller.
Felipe Lima, director of business development and fulfillment operations at Shopee, stated that the tool helps firms leverage their existing online presence to access regional trade. The expansion builds on a partnership formed last year with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex) to provide training and technical assistance.
Founded in Singapore in 2015, Shopee operates 26 distribution centers and 200 logistics hubs in Brazil. Its Brazilian infrastructure supports over 3 million registered local sellers, who account for 95% of transactions on the platform.
