A multi-year deal and Series B round bring total funding to $33 million across Asia.
W4 Games announced a multi-year partnership with Tencent on 21 September 2026, alongside a Series B funding round that lifts its total funding to 33.00 million dollars. The agreement aims to expand the open-source Godot game engine and enterprise tools across Asia through localization, ecosystem support, and go-to-market initiatives.
The tie-up connects Tencent to the open-source Godot ecosystem. On the Steam gaming platform, Godot-powered titles that achieve higher earnings have increased from two to more than 50 over the past three years.
The collaboration fits alongside Tencent's broader rollout of its Hy3 artificial intelligence model across WorkBuddy, Miora, and TokenHub, seeking to embed AI-assisted tools into developer workflows amid heavy cloud and infrastructure investments.
Market views remain focused on capital expenditures. Pessimistic analysts anticipate slower revenue growth of about 7.4 percent and profit margins sliding toward 24.4 percent as higher AI spending pressures cash flows.
