Tencent Esports Competition Solution will provide end-to-end technical support for all 11 esports medal events at the 20th Asian Games. The competition runs from September 22 to October 2, 2026, at Hall D of the Aichi Sky Expo in Tokoname, Japan. The tournament spans six game categories and multiple publishers, bringing different titles and devices into a single multi-sport setting.
The platform coordinates three phases of play. Before a match, an Inspection Station conducts checks on devices and peripherals. During competition, a Monitoring Console tracks more than 30 real-time indicators such as network status alongside multiple camera angles. After each match, a Review Room provides competition officials with match records, video archives and information retention.
The deployment builds on Tencent Esports' record at the 19th Asian Games, where its technical team handled 217 matches with zero technical incidents. Ahead of the current Games, the system underwent three test events between January and June 2026 across Japan, Singapore and Vietnam, followed by integrated venue testing earlier this month.
Esports entering multi-sport events means that its competition processes need to align with the standards of fairness established across traditional sports. ECS translates areas that have traditionally relied on manual experience, such as equipment checks, live monitoring and officiating support, into technical processes that can be recorded, traced and reviewed. We hope ECS can serve beyond a single event and provide a reusable technical foundation for esports competitions across Asia and other competitive environments.
The initiative forms part of a 10-year strategic partnership from 2025 to 2035 between Tencent Esports and the Olympic Council of Asia. Husain Al-Musallam, Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia, noted that the deployment advances a shift toward shared technical infrastructure and standard competition systems across the continent.
