TIM secures 86% of clinics in Brazilian Fust connectivity bid

TIM S.A. secured 1,127 of the 1,307 basic health units (UBS) awarded in the provisional results of Tender No. 387/2026, held by Brazil's Ministry of Communications. The result represents 86.2% of the units selected in this phase.

The tender originally planned to cover 1,832 health units with approximately 50 million Brazilian reais from the Universal Access Fund for Telecommunications Services (Fust). Selected provisional bids totaled 31.6 million Brazilian reais across 11 winning companies, while 525 units received no winning bids.

Vivo finished in second place with 87 health units, followed by Claro with 61. Participating companies have 10 days to file appeals with the ministry before final results are published.

The 1,307 health units are located across 24 Brazilian states. Bahia has the largest share with 183 units, followed by Minas Gerais with 159, Pará with 157, and Rio de Janeiro with 80. Projects include internet access and Wi-Fi infrastructure, which operators fund and later offset against their required contributions to Fust.
