TSMC Q3 revenue beats estimates at NT$1.49 trillion
Sales rose 50% from a year earlier as artificial intelligence chip demand remained strong.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co reported third-quarter revenue of roughly NT$1.49 trillion ($46.7 billion), according to calculations reported on Thursday, October 8, 2026. The result represents a 50% increase from a year earlier and topped the NT$1.46 trillion consensus estimate from analysts surveyed by Bloomberg.
For September, revenue climbed 55% year on year to NT$511.86 billion, although sales slipped 0.6% compared with August. Across the first nine months of 2026, TSMC generated NT$3.90 trillion in revenue, marking a 41.1% increase from the same period last year.
The company's performance highlights strong appetite for advanced semiconductors used in artificial intelligence accelerators and data centers. TSMC manufactures chips for major customers including Nvidia, Advanced Micro Devices, and Apple. The contract chipmaker has been expanding production capacity and making significant investments abroad, including in the United States, to meet AI demand and support supply chain localization.
Despite the revenue beat, TSMC shares traded in Taipei declined more than 1% to NT$2,555.0 by 05:45 GMT on Thursday.
