US dollar falls to COP 3,262 in Colombia

The currency dropped COP 45 below the official representative rate on October 2.

The US dollar ended trading in Colombia at COP 3,262 on October 2, 2026. At the close of trading on the Bolsa de Valores de Colombia, the currency fell COP 45 compared to the representative market rate set by the Superintendencia Financiera at COP 3,307 for the session.

The session opened with the dollar at COP 3,286. During the day, the exchange rate reached a high of COP 3,310 and touched a low of COP 3,256. The average trading price stood at approximately COP 3,272. Trading volume reached about 1,366 million dollars, while the transaction average stood at 864.7 million dollars.

In the United States, official data released on October 2 showed unemployment rose from 4.1% to 4.2% in September, with 29,000 jobs created compared to the roughly 85,000 expected by financial markets. The Bureau of Labor Statistics revised previous months downward, showing a loss of 10,000 jobs in July and 133,000 jobs created in August instead of the 162,000 previously reported. Average wages rose 3% year-on-year in September, below the 3.4% annual inflation recorded in August.
