Airbus confirms 72 jet deliveries in September

Deliveries rose 26% from August to reach 547 aircraft year to date

Airbus SE reported on October 8, 2026, that it delivered 72 commercial aircraft to 37 customers during September 2026. The monthly output exceeded an estimate of 68 jets from Jefferies and represents a 26% increase compared to the 57 aircraft delivered in August 2026. The monthly total was slightly below the 73 jets delivered in September 2025.

Deliveries for the month were led by the single-aisle product line. The company handed over 59 aircraft from the A320 family, consisting of 37 A321neo, 21 A320neo, and one A319neo aircraft. Airbus also delivered eight A220-300 jets, three wide-body A350-900 aircraft, and two A330-900 jets.

For the first nine months of 2026, Airbus delivered 547 aircraft, marking an 8% increase from the 507 deliveries recorded in the same period of 2025. To meet its full-year 2026 target of 870 aircraft, which represents a 10% increase over the 793 deliveries completed in 2025, the planemaker must deliver 323 aircraft during the fourth quarter.

On the commercial side, Airbus booked 17 gross orders and recorded three cancellations in September 2026, resulting in 14 net orders and reducing the order backlog by 58 aircraft during the month. Across the first nine months of 2026, the company logged 1,174 gross orders and 69 cancellations, taking net orders to 1,105 aircraft and leaving the total order backlog at 9,310 aircraft as of September 30, 2026.
