Bids from two stalking horse buyers establish minimum prices ahead of an auction on 22 October 2026.
Brazilian retailer Americanas announced on 16 September 2026 that it has advanced the sale of three properties in Rio de Janeiro as part of its judicial recovery process. The company secured binding offers totaling R$ 129.9 million, which now acts as a floor price for competitive bidding.
The properties are located in the Laranjeiras, Tijuca, and Freguesia do Engenho Velho neighborhoods. Supermundi submitted an offer of R$ 95 million for the Laranjeiras asset. Meanwhile, the closed-end real estate fund Antilhas offered R$ 34.92 million for the locations in Tijuca and Freguesia do Engenho Velho.
Both buyers hold stalking horse status with a right to top competing bids, requiring their counteroffers to be at least 1% higher than any rival bid. Sealed bids will be presented at an auction scheduled for 22 October 2026 at 14:00. Sale notices were officially published on 9 September 2026 in the Diário de Justiça Eletrônico Nacional.
Creditors approved real estate sales in February 2026, targeting between R$ 346 million and R$ 468 million across the entire asset portfolio. Americanas pledged to allocate 60% of net proceeds exceeding R$ 200 million from these disposals toward amortizing or redeeming debentures early. The retailer, which operated 1,448 stores at the end of the second quarter of 2026, requested to exit judicial recovery in March 2026 and awaits a ruling from the 4th Business Court of Rio de Janeiro.
