Over 1,600 employees across 17 stores launched action during the iPhone 18 Pro debut on 18 September.
Apple shares slipped slightly to $333.95 on 18 September as retail workers in Italy staged a labor strike on the same day the company launched the iPhone 18 Pro globally.
Three trade unions said the action covered more than 1,600 workers across 17 Apple stores in Italy, averaging roughly 94 employees per store. The unions are demanding additional hiring, permanent contracts for temporary staff, and the option for part-time workers to expand their hours.
Apple confirmed that its Italian retail locations remained open throughout the protest, limiting immediate operational disruption on a key sales day. In Italy, the newly launched iPhone 18 Pro starts at a price of 1,489.
