Bank of America Brazil CEO Eduardo Alcalay steps down
The executive leaves the American bank after nearly a decade leading operations in the country.
Eduardo Alcalay announced in a LinkedIn post on October 6, 2026, that he is stepping down as CEO of
Bank of America in Brazil. He leaves the position after nearly ten years leading the bank's local unit.
Columnist Lauro Jardim of O Globo reported two days earlier that the executive wanted to retire soon. Bank of America has not yet announced a successor for the position.
In his post, Alcalay stated that his tenure was marked by sustained growth driven by business diversification, a results-oriented culture, and strong management and controls. He noted that he plans to apply his experience in financial markets, private equity, and organizational management across different ventures, though he did not share further details.
Before leading Bank of America in Brazil, Alcalay headed mergers and acquisitions at the former Banco Garantia, worked at boutique investment firm Singular Partners, and spent nearly 12 years at GP, where he served as head of private equity.
