A consortium backed by BlackRock and IFM Investors seeks to acquire Stack Infrastructure's Asia-Pacific assets.
A consortium backed by BlackRock and IFM Investors has entered exclusive negotiations to acquire Stack Infrastructure's Asia-Pacific portfolio for up to $25 billion, Bloomberg News reported on September 24, 2026.
The group includes the BlackRock-backed Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure Partnership (AIP) alongside IFM. The consortium is preparing to conduct due diligence and aims to reach an agreement soon with Stack's owner, Blue Owl Capital.
Stack operates data center facilities across major Asia-Pacific hubs, including Tokyo, Osaka, Sydney and Melbourne. In May, Bloomberg reported that Stack was considering selling its Asian operations at a valuation above $30 billion.
The discussions are ongoing and could be extended or conclude without an agreement, according to Reuters. AIP launched in late 2024 with plans to initially deploy over $30 billion into artificial intelligence infrastructure, backed by investors including Nvidia, Microsoft, xAI and MGX.
