Starting October 1, eligible U.S. workers can route paychecks directly into Cash App.
Block announced on September 24, 2026, that Cash App has partnered with Workday to expand direct deposit access for eligible employees in the United States. Starting October 1, Cash App will be available as an option within Workday's Enhanced Direct Deposit feature, allowing workers to route paychecks directly into their accounts.
The company cited its internal research showing that only 65% of adult modern earners, including freelancers, gig workers, and content creators, receive a traditional ACH direct deposit into a bank account. The integration is designed to help these workers consolidate and manage multiple income streams in one place.
The agreement supports Block's efforts to position Cash App as a primary banking option. In the second quarter of 2026, Cash App reported 9.4 million Primary Banking Actives, representing an increase of 17% year over year.
