An internal document detailing investment-banking transactions across Asia was mistakenly sent by email.
A Morgan Stanley employee accidentally leaked an internal document listing more than 100 investment-banking deals that the firm is pitching and monitoring in Asia, according to people familiar with the matter reported by Bloomberg on September 23, 2026.
The document detailed candidates for initial public offerings across China, South Korea, and India, while also covering transactions in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. It included information on private equity and pension funds backing those companies, as well as projects that were put on hold.
The staffer sent the deals list by email earlier this week and later attempted to retract the message. A blurred copy of the document was also published on Instagram, according to people familiar with the situation.
In a statement to Bloomberg News, Morgan Stanley stated that it takes client confidentiality extremely seriously. The New York-based bank said it promptly took steps to address the inadvertent sharing of information and continues to engage with relevant parties.
