Visa signs digital payment agreement with Vietnam Airlines

Visa has signed a memorandum of understanding with Vietnam Airlines to deepen cooperation in payments, travel and loyalty services. The agreement was exchanged during an official visit to the United States by To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam's Central Committee and President of Vietnam.

Robert B. Thomson, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Government Affairs at Visa, exchanged the agreement with Le Truong Giang, Member of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Airlines. The collaboration aims to expand the airline's Lotusmiles frequent-flyer program into a broader travel and lifestyle platform.

Under the agreement, Visa and Vietnam Airlines plan to develop co-branded payment cards for domestic and international markets. The initiatives will also cover digital payment solutions across commercial activities, agency networks and supply-chain operations, alongside promotional efforts for air routes in strategic markets.

Dang Tuyet Dung, Visa Country Manager for Vietnam and Laos, stated that the company looks forward to exploring payment and service solutions that connect aviation, payments and tourism across Vietnam and international markets.
