The deal includes five 787-10 and six 737-8 airplanes, expanding the carrier's 2026 total to 25 jets.
Boeing and Biman Bangladesh Airlines announced on September 23, 2026, that the flag carrier placed an order for 11 commercial jets. The transaction includes five 787-10 Dreamliners and six 737-8 airplanes.
The purchase follows an earlier deal this year for 14 aircraft, bringing Biman's total orders in 2026 to 25 787 Dreamliner and 737 MAX jets. The airline currently operates 787, 777, and 737 Next-Generation models on routes connecting Bangladesh to Europe, the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia.
Boeing noted that the 787 Dreamliner and 737 MAX families offer 20% to 25% better fuel efficiency compared to the models they replace. Government officials from Bangladesh and the United States attended the agreement signing on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
