Shares slipped 0.3% to $106.42 as the company linked Hypershield and Splunk to OpenShell.
Cisco Systems outlined plans on September 28, 2026, to pair its security tools with Nvidia's new AI agent safety platform. Shares of the networking and cybersecurity provider slipped about 0.3% to $106.42 at approximately 10:20 a.m. ET.
The framework aims to monitor artificial intelligence agents from outside their own software. Under the setup, Nvidia's OpenShell establishes runtime controls, and a separate watchdog on BlueField-4 hardware monitors behavior. Cisco plans to integrate Hypershield, AI Defense and identity controls into that architecture, while Splunk will aggregate the activity for security teams.
The company expects that a higher volume of autonomous agents could lift enterprise demand for monitoring and security tools. Cisco has not yet provided revenue figures, pricing, customer counts or contract values for the integrated solution.
