The Finance Ministry approved changes to loan terms on a facility held with Transelca.
Colombia's Ministry of Finance and Public Credit authorized Interconexión Eléctrica S.A. E.S.P. to execute an internal public debt management operation for up to COP 31,908 million. The transaction applies to an existing credit facility held with Transelca.
The approval was formalized through Resolution 2107 on September 18, 2026. The resolution allows ISA to sign Amendment Number 4 to the internal loan agreement originally entered into with Transelca on December 15, 2005. That original loan was authorized for up to COP 45,498 million to cover cash flow needs in 2005. ISA made a partial prepayment of COP 31,908 million in 2006, which corresponds to the amount covered by the new debt management operation.
The amendment modifies the loan's total term, amortization schedule, and remunerative interest rates. According to the Risk Subdirection of the General Directorate of Public Credit and National Treasury, the transaction is viable because it does not increase the outstanding balance and improves the company's debt profile.
ISA requested the authorization in March 2026. On September 10, the relevant financing subdirection approved the draft terms for the amendment. Once signed, ISA must submit a copy to the Ministry of Finance within 10 calendar days so the transaction can be recorded in the Public Debt System.
