The MSCI Colcap index of the Bolsa de Valores de Colombia rose 2.69% on October 5, 2026, to close at 2,582.65 points. The advance moved the benchmark near its record highs and brought its cumulative year-to-date gain to 24.89%. Technical analysis identifies an initial support zone at 2,500 points and resistance at 2,628 points.
Trading volume on the Colombian stock market reached COP 198,303 million, an increase of 78.30% compared with the COP 111,233 million traded in the previous session. Ecopetrol led trading by turnover with COP 42,636 million as its shares rose 2.59%. Preferential shares of Grupo Cibest followed with COP 35,417 million in turnover and a 3.71% gain, while the iCOLCAP ETF traded COP 20,028 million and advanced 2.86%.
Among individual gainers, preferential shares of Davivienda led the market with a 9.09% increase, followed by ordinary shares of Grupo Cibest with an advance of 5.97%, and Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Bogotá with a 4.80% rise. Conversely, shares of Fabricato posted the session's steepest decline, falling 1.96%.
In the Mercado Global Colombiano, shares of Nubank climbed 10.98% and recorded COP 82,979 million in turnover, making them the most traded asset in that segment.
