The chain plans to add 80 stores and generate 580 direct jobs by the end of 2026.
OXXO, the convenience store chain owned by Fomento Económico Mexicano (FEMSA), plans to conclude 2026 with an investment of nearly MXN 300 million in the State of Mexico. The project includes opening 80 new stores and creating 580 direct jobs across the entity.
The retailer announced its plan on 17 September 2026 during a meeting with the Secretariat of Economic Development of the State of Mexico (Sedeco). The company currently operates more than 1,700 locations in the state, supported by two distribution centers located in Toluca and San Martín Obispo that also supply neighboring states.
For us, continuing to grow in the State of Mexico also means continuing to bet on its people. Behind each new store there are people who join OXXO, suppliers who join our shelves and communities with which we build long-term relationships.
Nationwide, OXXO operates more than 24,000 stores across Mexico. State authorities highlighted the company's investment and its contribution to regional economic activity.
