Grupo Fleury and Hospital Israelita Einstein launched the Galleri multi-cancer early detection test in Brazil this October through Genesis Genomics, their joint venture dedicated to genomics. Developed by US-based Grail, the blood test can identify signals associated with more than 50 types of cancer from a single blood sample. It is initially offered privately for BRL 6,990 and is recommended annually for asymptomatic adults aged 50 and older following medical evaluation.

The test is also available to individuals in complete cancer remission for more than three years, but it is not indicated for patients under 22, pregnant women, individuals under active treatment, or those undergoing current tumor investigations. While it identifies tumors that lack routine preventative screening, such as pancreatic, liver, ovarian, and biliary cancers, Grupo Fleury CEO Jeane Tsutsui stressed that the liquid biopsy complements rather than replaces conventional screening methods such as mammograms and colonoscopies.

Tsutsui noted that the launch carries strategic value rather than an immediate financial impact, anticipating gradual adoption over time. In 2025, Fleury posted net revenue of BRL 8.29 billion, EBITDA of BRL 2.135 billion, and a net profit of BRL 612.8 million. Its shares have gained nearly 63% so far in 2026. The executive noted that genomic tests represent more than 10% of clinical testing revenue at US peers like Quest and Labcorp, highlighting long-term expansion opportunities in Brazil.

Distribution will initially run through Fleury and Einstein clinics before expanding through Fleury's Lab to Lab diagnostic support network, which serves over 9,300 partner laboratories across 2,200 municipalities and reaches around 80% of the Brazilian population. Fleury operates 580 customer service units across 13 states and the Federal District, supported by 23 acquisitions since 2017, including its latest purchase of Unilab in Atibaia and nine surrounding cities.
