AsiaMedic becomes the first site in the region to adopt the deep learning MRI system.
GE HealthCare and AsiaMedic announced on September 30, 2026, that AsiaMedic has become the first site in ASEAN, and among the earliest in the Asia Pacific region, to deploy MR31. MR31 is the latest generation of GE HealthCare's magnetic resonance imaging platform, installed at AsiaMedic's imaging centre in Singapore.
The platform incorporates deep learning tools to reduce scan times and broaden complex examinations across neurological, musculoskeletal, and nerve imaging. Its Sonic DL for 3D feature applies deep learning acceleration to 3D volumetric scans, delivering up to 12 times scan acceleration across brain, spine, orthopaedic, and body examinations.
The technology also supports applications in prostate MRI. Features such as AIR Recon DL Phase Correction offer improved visualization of clinically significant lesions, while high-resolution T2-weighted imaging aids lesion localization for prostate fusion biopsy planning.
Dede Yan, General Manager of SEA6 at GE HealthCare, stated that the platform brings together deep learning tools designed to lower scan times and provide sharper images for patients in Singapore. GE HealthCare operates as a $20.6 billion business with approximately 54,000 employees globally.
