Alphabet's Google announced a strategic partnership with Unity on October 7, 2026, to launch an integrated gaming platform powered by artificial intelligence. The initiative combines Google's AI technology and consumer reach with Unity's game engine to enable game creation for millions of users worldwide.

As part of the rollout, Google released an experimental platform called Playground. Available to users aged 18 and older, Playground lets creators design and customize playable games using natural language prompts without writing code.

Later this year, the companies will expand the ecosystem with Unity Spark, a new product designed for advanced creation. Playground with Unity Spark will offer 3D capabilities, professional-grade mechanics, and the Unity runtime, allowing creators to progress from basic text prompts to complex interactive projects.

The platform integrates with Google Play Games profiles for multiplayer matchmaking, leaderboards, and community sharing tools. Google also plans to highlight standout creations across its consumer network to support multi-platform distribution.
