The service integrates LiquidSecurity hardware for financial institutions starting 17 September 2026.
On 17 September 2026, Marvell Technology, Microsoft, and Utimaco announced the delivery of Azure Payment HSM v2. The offering is a cloud-native payment security platform designed for financial institutions and payment service providers.
The platform integrates Marvell LiquidSecurity hardware security modules (HSMs), Utimaco Atalla Payments Module cryptographic software, and Microsoft Azure. The fully managed service aims to help banks and payment processors handle transactions, maintain cryptographic key sovereignty, and meet PCI security and compliance standards without operating physical HSM infrastructure.
Marvell provides purpose-built hardware for dense multi-tenant environments, supporting high transaction throughput alongside hardware-based key protection. Utimaco contributes software for card issuance, PIN translation, mobile payments, and key management.
Azure Payment HSM v2 entered public preview on 17 September 2026 across regions in the Western United States and Western Europe.
