MercadoLibre relaunches Mago with over 100 AI features
The Mercado Pago assistant handles tasks through text, voice, images and documents.
MercadoLibre's fintech division, Mercado Pago, has relaunched Mago, its artificial intelligence assistant, incorporating more than 100 features directly into its mobile application. The tool allows users to interact through text, voice, images, and documents without navigating across different menus.
Beyond answering questions, Mago enables users to analyze expenses, check card activity, schedule payments, make transfers, and check investment returns. Users can also configure price threshold alerts for the US dollar, while merchants can program recurring payments to suppliers and process bulk transfers. For sensitive transactions, the system requires user confirmation before execution.
A survey of 900 Argentine users conducted by Mercado Pago showed that 71% of respondents either already use AI to manage finances (24%) or want to start doing so (47%). While 83% reported having used an AI assistant before, 81% believe the technology will change how people manage money. Additionally, 75% said data security is crucial before adopting such tools, prompting the company to include fraud-prevention features that evaluate suspicious communications.
Mago is capable of organizing, anticipating and solving real problems for our clients. It is not just a query channel, but a personal assistant that simplifies the daily management of finances by allowing tasks to be executed and scheduled directly from a conversation.
