CEO Mark Zuckerberg outlined monetization plans and retail integrations at Meta Connect.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg outlined the monetization strategy for the company's Muse AI agent on Wednesday during the Meta Connect conference. The company intends to keep Muse free for a large volume of tokens and generate revenue over time by taking a small fee from transactions processed through the tool.
Meta Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang announced support for PayPal alongside retail integrations with Walmart, Best Buy, The Gap, Sephora, Wayfair, American Eagle, Expedia, and Instacart. Wang also revealed that Muse is gaining computer control capabilities for Mac computers, allowing the agent to operate the system on a user's behalf.
The agent will expand across Meta hardware, integrating into Meta VR Glasses and a new dedicated handheld device called Muse Charm. Zuckerberg stated that engineers are finishing the product and expect Muse Charm to be available in time for the holidays.
Muse launched on Sept. 8 and reached the top spot on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Market intelligence firm Sensor Tower reported that the app reached 560,000 daily active users in 11 days. Following early adoption news, Meta shares rose 11% on Monday, prompting Wells Fargo and KeyBanc Capital Markets to raise their price targets.
