The Colombian food group continues its expansion under Jaime Gilinski.
Grupo Nutresa has acquired 100% of the shares of Empaques Industriales de Colombia, a company based in Bogota. The target business manufactures corrugated cardboard packaging and related supplies. The company stated that completing and formalising the transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions.
The food producer is one of Colombia's largest industrial companies, owning consumer brands such as Sello Rojo, Doria, Chococono, Corona, Festival, and Zenu. Following its acquisition by Grupo Gilinski, the conglomerate led by Jaime Gilinski, Nutresa has pursued an asset-expansion strategy after the unravelling of the GEA conglomerate.
Prior to this transaction, Nutresa had added the Helados Tio Rico brand in Venezuela and acquired the ice cream chain Mimo's. According to company executives, the group intends to continue its expansion into international markets.
