Palo Alto Networks integrates firewalls with Semtech routers

Palo Alto Networks and Semtech Corporation completed a product integration combining Next-Generation Firewalls with Semtech AirLink secure edge 5G and LTE routers. The joint solution delivers automated Zero Trust protection for utilities and critical infrastructure operators across wired, cellular and satellite connections.

The setup connects AirLink routers through encrypted tunnels directly to Palo Alto Networks firewalls integrated with PAN-OS. It automates certificate provisioning and machine identity management using Palo Alto Networks Zero Touch PKI alongside Next-Generation Trust Security to protect remote field assets.

Mitch Rappard, director of technical solutions at Palo Alto Networks, noted that operational technology assets often cannot be patched quickly while artificial intelligence accelerates attack timelines. Both companies will present the integrated technology at the UBBA Summit in Fort Worth, Texas, on October 13, 2026.
