Tesla and Pilot open first Megacharger site in Georgia
The network supports electric semi trucks with up to 1.2 megawatts per stall.
Tesla and travel center network Pilot opened their first Tesla Megacharger site on October 8, 2026, at a Pilot location in Ellabell, Georgia. The site at 130 Interstate Exchange Way features six heavy-duty charging stalls designed to support electric semi trucks along major freight corridors.
The stations use Tesla V4 cabinet technology, with each stall delivering up to 1.2 megawatts of power. According to Tesla, that charging speed allows a Tesla Semi to reach 60% charge in 30 minutes. Each planned location across the network will feature between four and eight high-power charging stalls.
Twelve additional heavy-duty charging locations are currently under construction. Three of them are near completion: Tulare, California, scheduled to open on October 9, 2026; Fort Stockton, Texas; and North Las Vegas, Nevada.
The companies first announced their collaboration in January 2026. The initial plan focuses on key freight corridors such as Interstate 5 and Interstate 10 across California, Georgia, Indiana, Nevada, and Texas.
