The company will operate three California freight depots for Forum Mobility.
Tesla signed an agreement on Thursday, 17 September 2026, to serve as the charging operator for Forum Mobility's next three freight depots in California. Following the announcement, shares of the electric-vehicle and energy company rose nearly 2% to trade at $364.43.
The three facilities across northern and southern California will deliver a combined 30 megawatts of heavy-duty truck charging capacity. If spread evenly, the network would provide roughly 10 megawatts per depot. However, Forum Mobility has not disclosed the exact division of capacity among the locations.
The depots will feature Tesla's Megawatt Charging System alongside CCS connections and pull-through charging lanes tailored for large commercial vehicles. The expansion allows Tesla to expand commercial freight infrastructure and monetize its charging network beyond passenger cars.
The financial details of the operating contract remain undisclosed. Forum Mobility did not announce vehicle-order commitments, utilization targets or specific contract terms, leaving the direct financial impact on Tesla unclear.
