The payments company joins forces with the travel platform to target experience-led tourism.
Visa announced a memorandum of understanding with travel experiences platform Klook on September 23, 2026. The partnership spans six markets across Southeast Asia: Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam. It aims to capitalise on the growing trend of experience-driven travel planning.
Under the agreement, Klook joins Visa Destinations, the payments company's regional travel platform. The companies will coordinate joint creator initiatives, special cardholder promotions and in-destination branding. In addition, affiliate links from Visa creators will appear on Klook's revamped Kreator Shops, which launched in August 2026 and connect to a network of more than 30,000 creators across 88 markets.
The tie-up follows research from Visa's 2026 Global Travel Intentions study, which found that 37% of Asia Pacific respondents plan trips around unique local experiences, exceeding the global average of 29%. Data from Klook's Travel Pulse 2026 showed that more than half of Asia Pacific travellers no longer start planning with a set destination, and 23% choose where to travel based entirely on a specific activity.
According to Gladys Chan, Head of Marketing for Regional Southeast Asia at Visa, the alliance combines the payment network with Klook's creator community to connect cardholders directly with travel experiences and support regional tourism demand.
