Archer Aviation announced on September 24, 2026, that the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 expired for its planned acquisition of three Boeing subsidiaries: Wisk Aero, Insitu, and SkyGrid. The antitrust waiting period concluded at 11:59 p.m. EDT on September 18, 2026.
The expiration satisfies a key condition to finalize the deal. Completion remains subject to other customary closing conditions and pending regulatory approvals. The companies expect the transaction to close by the end of 2026.
The transaction aims to build an end-to-end physical AI platform across aerospace and defense. The combined business will integrate Wisk, Insitu, and SkyGrid technologies covering autonomous flight, electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, unmanned aircraft systems, and airspace intelligence with Archer's product line and its purpose-built AI foundation model, ZEE.
