Cencosud is advancing the transformation of Portal Rosario, its shopping mall located in the Argentine province of Santa Fe. The move follows the company's June announcement of an investment exceeding $60 million to expand the Unicenter Shopping mall in Buenos Aires.

The revamp includes the arrival of six international brands and the renovation of common areas, alongside new dining and retail offerings. French sports retailer Decathlon will open a 3,900-square-meter store, marking its first location in Santa Fe province. The other five incoming international brands are Kiabi, Indian, Balmohk, Only, and Jack & Jones, which together will add approximately 4,000 square meters of commercial space.

The project also involves the expansion of anchor supermarket Jumbo. While Cencosud did not disclose the final area, local outlet Rosario Times reported the store could grow from its current 4,500 square meters to around 9,200 square meters. The retailer noted that further project stages will be detailed over coming months and that it is planning expansions and renovations at other shopping malls across Argentina.

At the close of June, Cencosud operated 348 retail stores in Argentina representing 930,039 square meters of sales floor, as well as 22 shopping centers totaling 665,606 square meters of gross leasable area. Its Argentine operations include supermarkets Jumbo, Disco, Vea, Makro, and Basualdo, home improvement chains Easy and Blaisten, and shopping centers.
