Joby Aviation has deployed BitRipple's LT3 adaptive transport platform as a communications layer across its flight test operations, BitRipple announced on October 7, 2026. The software-defined system provides real-time telemetry streaming across satellite and terrestrial cellular networks simultaneously.

Joby is currently flight testing its first FAA-conforming aircraft for Type Inspection Authorization testing, a key validation milestone required for commercial service. The flights validate speed, range, and energy management under real-world operating conditions, which require dependable data streams from the aircraft.

The technology has been tested across Joby's operations for more than a year. Kevin Carosso, Data Engineering Lead at Joby Aviation, noted that BitRipple's software-based approach allows flight teams to maintain continuous connectivity without adding hardware complexity, specialized spectrum, or heavy antenna systems.

Joby has logged more than 50,000 miles across its test fleet as it works toward FAA certification and the launch of its initial commercial operations in the United States.
