Piper Sandler data showed user numbers rose 8% in August 2026, marking the fastest pace this year.
Reddit shares rose 6.7% on 11 September 2026 after Piper Sandler audience measurement data showed that the platform's user base expanded 8% month over month in August 2026. This gain marked the fastest monthly expansion rate of the year for the company.
According to the research from Piper Sandler, the monthly jump lifted Reddit's year-over-year audience growth to 18.0%. The increase in user traffic signals stronger engagement and broader reach across the platform, supporting optimism around future advertising revenue.
The stock has experienced 59 price swings greater than 5% over the past year. Ten days earlier, the shares dropped 3.4% when the European Union classified Reddit as a Very Large Online Platform under the Digital Services Act because it exceeded 45 million monthly active users in the bloc. The designation requires Reddit to comply with stricter risk rules by the end of December 2026 or face fines of up to 6% of annual global revenue.
Reddit has fallen 35.3% since the start of the year. At $156.42 per share, it trades 42.2% below its 52-week peak of $270.71 reached in September 2025. A $1,000 investment made at the March 2024 initial public offering is currently worth $3,101.
