Chase adds travel perks to Freedom Flex card

JPMorgan Chase announced on September 21, 2026, new travel perks and features for its Chase Freedom Flex card. Starting immediately, cardmembers can make international purchases and online orders with foreign merchants without paying foreign transaction fees.

Cardmembers can now also access rotating Points Boost offers on select hotel stays booked through Chase Travel. The promotion makes Ultimate Rewards points worth up to 10% more on eligible reservations, boosting the redemption rate from $0.01 per point up to $1.10 for every 100 points. These rewards stack with the standard 5% cash back on Chase Travel bookings.

The bank also revealed that cardmembers can preview 5% cash back categories one quarter early in the Chase Mobile app. Categories for the first quarter of 2027 include top streaming services and grocery stores, excluding Walmart and Target. This marks the first time grocery stores appear in two consecutive quarters, following the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to the usual $1,500 quarterly spending cap.

Along with a new card design featuring a deeper blue background and stardust artwork, Chase launched a limited-time $250 welcome offer for new cardmembers who spend $500 in their first three months. JPMorgan Chase reported $5 trillion in assets and $375 billion in stockholders' equity as of June 30, 2026.
