Zacks highlights record data center sales alongside gross margin and customer concentration risks.
Marvell Technology shares have outperformed the Zacks Electronics - Semiconductors industry year to date, rising 179.9% compared to the industry gain of 30.7%. Zacks Equity Research highlighted the company in its research report published on 14 September 2026.
Demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure continues to lift business performance. Custom silicon, interconnect, switching and optics have driven record data center revenues and led to a higher multi-year outlook. Marvell management now projects faster growth through fiscal 2028 as custom programs expand and scale-up networking gains traction.
Marvell also expanded its role across next-generation AI architectures through its relationship with NVIDIA and recent acquisitions. Meanwhile, the communications and other segment provides business diversification.
However, Zacks noted several operational risks that support a balanced view. The ramp-up of custom products is expected to weigh on gross margin, while sales are increasingly concentrated in data center operations and large customers. In addition, supply constraints, export controls, tariffs, intense competition and uneven communications demand could disrupt execution.
