Micron signs $600M patent settlement with Netlist
The agreement covers server DIMMs and High Bandwidth Memory through 2031.
Micron Technology has entered into patent license and settlement agreements with Netlist on October 6, 2026. The deal resolves and mutually releases all pending legal proceedings between the two companies.
As part of the settlement, Micron receives a five-year license to Netlist's patent portfolio. The licensed technologies include patents covering server DIMMs and High Bandwidth Memory.
Micron will pay Netlist $30 million per quarter starting in the fourth quarter of 2026 through the third quarter of 2031. The quarterly disbursements total $600 million across the five-year term.
Netlist Chief Executive Officer C.K. Hong stated that the agreement validates the value of the firm's artificial intelligence memory technologies and affirmed its commitment to protecting its intellectual property.
