The Pratt & Whitney unit will add over 120 jobs in Niepołomice by 2028.
On 4 September, RTX Corporation announced that its Pratt & Whitney business is investing $25 million to expand its manufacturing facility in Niepołomice, Poland. The expanded plant is scheduled to begin operations in 2028 and will create over 120 jobs.
The Niepołomice site manufactures complex tubular assemblies for commercial and military aircraft engines, including the F135, Pratt & Whitney GTF, and PW800. The project complements a $100 million investment announced in April to raise production capabilities in Rzeszów, Poland. Supported by tax exemptions under the Polish Investment Zone Programme, the project reinforces RTX's largest presence outside the United States, which already employs more than 9,500 people in Poland.
The expansion follows strong product demand supported by a record backlog of $289 billion at the end of the second quarter, up 22% year-over-year. As of the close on 11 September, RTX traded at a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 27.29, compared to a sector median of 19.59.
As of 30 June, Fisher Asset Management remained the largest shareholder after increasing its position by 1.2% to $4.34 billion. Point72 Asset Management raised its stake from $395 million in the first quarter to nearly $626 million at the end of the second quarter, while D E Shaw held third place with $524 million.
