The new control plane aims to manage internal and third-party agents across enterprises.
Salesforce announced its Trusted Enterprise AI Harness on September 10, 2026. The platform aims to serve as a central management layer for artificial intelligence agents across entire organizations, covering both Salesforce tools and third-party agents.
The release addresses widespread operational hurdles in corporate adoption. Data from IDC and Lenovo indicates that 88% of enterprises with agent initiatives never deploy them to production. Additionally, Gartner reports that over 40% of agentic AI projects are cancelled because of rising costs and weak risk controls. A July 2026 VentureBeat Intelligence survey showed that 85% of enterprises run two or more agent orchestration platforms, averaging 3.1 platforms each.
The platform features an AI Control Plane built across six capabilities: Trusted Context, Trusted Agency, Trusted Action, Trusted Governance, Trusted Security, and Trusted Models. It supports open architectures through MCP, APIs, Skills, and Plug-ins. This development builds on the recent Claudeforce initiative, which made Anthropic's Claude the default reasoning engine on Salesforce.
The Agentic Enterprise won't be defined by which model a company chooses. Models will continue to change, and intelligence will increasingly be available everywhere. What will differentiate an enterprise is the trusted, proprietary context it brings to that intelligence – starting with the customer – and its ability to securely turn that context into action.
Salesforce plans general availability for the platform in early fiscal year 2028, which starts in February 2027. The company has not disclosed pricing details.
