Toyota lifts U.S. sales 8.4% in September
Electrified models drove growth, reaching 58.2% of total monthly deliveries.
Toyota Motor North America reported September 2026 U.S. sales of 201,306 vehicles, an increase of 8.4% on a volume basis and 4.0% on a daily selling rate basis compared to September 2025. Electrified vehicles drove the expansion, with deliveries climbing 37.8% on a volume basis and 32.2% on a daily selling rate basis to 117,215 units, accounting for 58.2% of total sales.
For the third quarter of 2026, total sales rose 0.6% on both a volume and daily selling rate basis to 633,223 vehicles. Quarterly electrified vehicle deliveries expanded 28.5% to 363,367 units, representing 57.4% of total volume across the group's 32 electrified vehicle options.
By brand, the Toyota division delivered 171,469 vehicles in September, up 7.9% by volume, and reached an electrification mix of 61%. Its third-quarter sales edged up 0.5% to 540,167 units, with electrified sales rising 29.2% to 325,227 vehicles. Lexus posted September sales of 29,837 vehicles, up 11.4%, while third-quarter volume grew 1.6% to 93,056 vehicles, including 38,140 electrified units.
