US stock index futures showed mixed trading on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Dow Jones futures slipped 0.06%, S&P 500 futures edged up 0.01%, and Nasdaq futures fell 0.23%. The moves followed a record session on Tuesday, when the S&P 500 gained 0.58% to close at 7,818.93 points, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 253.38 points, or 0.49%, to 51,521.28 points, and the Nasdaq Composite added 0.45% to finish at 27,599.79 points.

Pressures mounted across global fixed-income and commodity markets as attacks by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz and strikes by Yemen's Houthis on Saudi Arabia disrupted shipping optimism. Brent crude rose 0.63% to $101.21 per barrel, after crossing $101, while WTI gained 0.25% to $89.66 per barrel. The 10-year US Treasury yield surpassed 5.30%, with sovereign bonds in France and Italy leading declines across Europe.
