Alphabet announced a universal Gemini artificial intelligence agent designed for the workplace. The tool intensifies competition with OpenAI, Anthropic, and Microsoft for enterprise clients.

The artificial intelligence tool handles various tasks, including answering questions, generating content, and writing code. It operates directly within Google applications such as Gmail, Drive, Docs, and Calendar.

Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, stated that the agent selects the optimal model for each task, features built-in cost controls, and provides enterprise-grade security, administration, and governance capabilities.

Google is seeking enterprise clients to help recover hundreds of billions of dollars invested in artificial intelligence infrastructure. The company competes with Anthropic, OpenAI, Amazon, and Microsoft to become the primary platform for daily work tasks. Alphabet shares rose about 1.5% in pre-market trading in New York.
