Grupo Carso buys part of Paseo San Francisco mall
Puebla Mayor José Chedraui Budib confirmed the private real estate purchase in the city centre.
Grupo Carso acquired a portion of the Paseo San Francisco shopping centre and a former factory located opposite the traditional chalupa food stalls in the historic centre of Puebla. The private transaction between third parties was confirmed by Puebla Mayor José Chedraui Budib.
Financial terms and transaction values were not disclosed. The company has not yet published an official project plan, construction timeline, or total planned investment for the properties.
Market reports suggest the site could be developed into a mixed-use complex with retail, office, and residential space similar to Plaza Carso in Mexico City. However, the exact configuration remains unconfirmed until Grupo Carso presents formal documentation and secures municipal permits.
The real estate arm of Grupo Carso operates properties across Mexico, including Plaza Nuevo Veracruz and Fórum Coatzacoalcos in Veracruz, Plaza Altabrisa in Mérida and Villahermosa, Plaza Imagen in Gómez Palacio, Plaza Q in Pachuca, and Plaza San Luis in San Luis Potosí. In the State of Mexico, its portfolio includes Mexipuerto Cuatro Caminos, Plaza Ciudad Jardín, Plaza Tlane, and Mexipuerto Ciudad Azteca.
